Collection of general information when you visit our website
Information of a general nature is automatically collected by a cookie when you access our website. This information (server log files) includes, among other things, the type of web browser used, the operating system used, the domain name of your internet service provider, and other similar data. It consists exclusively of information that cannot be connected to you as an individual.
This information is required for technical reasons so that the requested website content can be correctly displayed to you, and it is generated automatically when you use the Internet. It is processed for the following purposes in particular:
Ensuring a smooth connection to the website
Ensuring our website can be used without any hitches
To evaluate system security and stability
Other administrative purposes
The processing of your personal data is based on our legitimate interest arising from the aforementioned purposes of data collection. We do not use your data to draw conclusions about you personally. The only recipients of the data are the data controller and, if applicable, the external processor. Anonymous information of this kind may be statistically analysed in order to optimise our website and its underlying technology.
Cookies
Like many other websites, we also use "cookies". Cookies are small text files that are transferred from a website server to your hard drive. When this happens, we automatically receive certain data, such as your IP address, the browser used, your operating system, and your connection to the Internet.
Cookies cannot be used to run programs or transfer viruses to your computer. We can use the information contained in cookies to make navigation easier for you and to enable our websites to be displayed correctly.
Under no circumstances will the data we collect be passed on to third parties or be linked to personal data without your consent.
Of course, our website can also be viewed without the use of cookies. Internet browsers are usually set up to accept cookies. You can disable the use of cookies at any time via your browser settings. Please refer to your Internet browser's help feature to learn how you can change these settings. Please note that some of our website features may not work if you have disabled the use of cookies.
Registering on our website
When you register to use our personalised services, we collect some of your personal data, such as your name, address, and contact and communication details, like your telephone number and email address. If you are registered with us, you can access content and services that we only offer to registered users. Furthermore, registered users have the option of changing or deleting the data entered during registration at any time, if needed. Of course, we will also provide you at any time with information about the personal data of yours that we have stored. We will be happy to correct or delete your personal data at your request, provided that there are no legal retention obligations that preclude this. To contact us about this, please use the contact information at the end of this Privacy Policy.
Transfer to third parties/obligations of data processors
We may transmit your personal data to processors and to third parties who need to be consulted in order to provide the services you require. All of them have committed to us to comply with the applicable data protection standards. If compliance with European data protection standards is not possible – for example, because standard contractual clauses, adequacy decisions or certifications are not guaranteed in the specific case in question – we will inform you in good time and also obtain the necessary consent from you.
Provision of chargeable services
For the provision of chargeable services, we ask for additional data, e.g. payment details, in order to be able to execute your order. We store this data in our systems until the legal retention periods have expired.
SSL Encryption
To protect the security of your data during transmission, we use encryption methods representing the state of the art (such as SSL) via HTTPS.
Newsletter
With your explicit consent, we will regularly send you our newsletter or comparable information by email to your specified email address.
In order to receive the newsletter, all you need to provide is your email address and your name. When you register to receive our newsletter, the data you provide will be used exclusively for that purpose. Subscribers may also be notified by email about circumstances relevant to the service or registration (e.g., changes to the newsletter offer or technical matters).
For effective registration, we need a valid email address. In order to verify that the person registering is actually the owner of the email address provided, we use the "double opt-in" procedure. This involves logging the request for the newsletter, sending a confirmation email and receiving the response requested in that email. No further data is collected. The data will be used exclusively for sending the newsletter and will not be passed on to third parties.
You can revoke your consent to the storage of your personal data and its use for sending the newsletter at any time. Each newsletter contains a link that will allow you to do this. You can also unsubscribe at any time using the contact options provided at the beginning of this Privacy Policy.
Facebook (Meta) & Twitter plug-ins
We use Facebook (Meta) social plug-ins from the Facebook/Meta social network operated by the companies Facebook (Meta) Ireland Limited, 4 Grand Canal Square Dublin 2, Ireland, and Facebook Inc., 1601 S. California Avenue, Palo Alto, CA 94303, United States. These plug-ins are buttons that Facebook uses to measure who visits our website. If the visitor is registered as a user on Facebook and logged in at the same time, further information will also be stored by Facebook. For technical reasons, Facebook receives your IP address. We have no influence on the use of this data by Facebook. In this regard, we refer to Facebook's privacy policies, in particular, the information available under the following link: https://www.facebook.com/help/568137493302217.
There, you will also find information on how to block Facebook social plug-ins with your browser.
The "Like" plug-in from Facebook is not used on our website.
We have integrated the plug-ins into our website in such a way that no automatic connection to the Facebook servers is established. You can recognise the Facebook button by the white "f" on a blue background. If you want to use the social plug-ins, click on the relevant button. Only then will a connection to Facebook be activated.
Contact form
If you contact us with any questions by email or through our contact form, you thereby voluntarily give us your consent to contact you. A valid email address is required for this purpose. This is used to classify your enquiry and then reply to it. The provision of any further data is optional. The information you give us will be stored for the purposes of processing your request, as well as for any follow-up questions. After your request has been dealt with, your personal data will automatically be deleted.
Use of Google Analytics
This website uses Google Analytics, a web analysis service from Google Inc. (hereinafter: Google). Google Analytics uses "cookies", i.e., text files stored on your computer that enable your use of the website to be analysed. Cookie-generated information about your use of this website is usually transmitted to a Google server in the USA and stored there. However, because IP anonymisation is enabled on this website, Google will store your IP address in truncated form if you are accessing this site from within the European Union or the European Economic Area. Only in exceptional cases will the entire IP address be transmitted to a Google server in the USA and truncated there. Google will use this information on behalf of the operator of this website in order to evaluate your use of the website, to compile reports on website activity, and to provide other services relating to website activity and internet usage for the website operator. The IP address transmitted by your browser within the context of Google Analytics will not be merged with other Google data.
The purpose of the data processing is to evaluate the use of the website and to compile reports on activities performed on the website. The intention is for other related services to then be provided based on your use of the website and the Internet. The processing is based on the legitimate interest of the website operator.
You can prevent the storage of cookies by changing the relevant settings of your browser software. However, please note that if you do this, you may not be able to use all the features of this website in full. You can also prevent the data generated by cookies and associated with your use of the website (including your IP address) from being captured and processed by Google by downloading and installing the browser plug-in available at the following link: browser add-on for disabling Google Analytics.
In addition, or as an alternative to the browser add-on, you can prevent tracking by Google Analytics on our pages by clicking this link. This will install an opt-out cookie on your device. This will prevent the collection of data by Google Analytics for this website and for this browser in future, so long as the cookie remains installed in your browser.
Use of script libraries (Google Fonts)
In order to present our content correctly and in a graphically appealing way across all browsers, we use script libraries and font libraries such as Google Fonts (https://www.google.com/webfonts/) on this website. Google Fonts are loaded into your browser's cache to avoid repeated loading. If your browser does not support Google Fonts or does not allow access, content will be displayed in a default font.
Calling script libraries or font libraries automatically triggers a connection to the library operator. In theory, it is possible for the operators of the corresponding libraries to collect data – though it currently still remains unclear whether and, if so, for what purposes they do so.
The privacy policy of the library operator Google can be found here: https://www.google.com/policies/privacy/
Use of Google Maps
This website uses the Google Maps API to display geographical information. When Google Maps is used, Google also collects, processes and utilises data about the visitor's use of map functions. For more information about how Google processes your information, please see Google's privacy policy. You can also change your personal data protection settings there in the Privacy Center.
You can find detailed instructions on how to manage your own data in connection with Google products here.
Embedded YouTube videos
We embed YouTube videos on some of our web pages. The operator of these plug-ins is YouTube LLC, 901 Cherry Ave., San Bruno, CA 94066, USA. As soon as you visit a page with a YouTube plugin, a connection to YouTube servers is established. This informs YouTube which pages you are visiting. If you are logged into your YouTube account, YouTube can identify your surfing habits and attribute them to you personally. You can prevent this by logging out of your YouTube account beforehand.
If a YouTube video is started, the provider uses cookies that collect information about the user's behaviour.
Anyone who has disabled the storage of cookies for the Google Ads programme will likewise not have to deal with such cookies when watching YouTube videos. However, YouTube also stores information on usage that is not related to individuals in other cookies. If you want to prevent this, you will need to block the storage of cookies in the browser.
Further information about data protection on "YouTube" can be found in the provider's privacy policy at: https://www.google.de/intl/de/policies/privacy/
Google AdWords
Our website uses Google Conversion Tracking. If you have reached our website via an ad placed by Google, Google Adwords will place a cookie on your computer. The conversion tracking cookie is placed when a user clicks on an ad placed by Google. These cookies expire after 30 days and are not used for personal identification. If the user visits certain pages of our website when the cookie has not yet expired, we and Google can detect that the user clicked on the ad and was directed to this website. Each Google AdWords customer receives a different cookie. Thus, cookies cannot be tracked using the website of Adwords customers. The information obtained using conversion cookies is used to create conversion statistics for Adwords customers who have opted into conversion tracking. Customers are informed of the total number of users who have clicked on their advertisement and been redirected to a page tagged with a conversion tracking tag. However, they will not receive any information which could be used to identify users personally.
If you do not want to participate in this tracking, you can refuse to allow the cookie required for this to be set – for example, by universally disabling the automatic placement of cookies in your browser settings or by setting your browser to block cookies from the domain "googleleadservices.com".
Please note that you may not delete the opt-out cookies as long as you do not wish to have measurement data recorded. If you have deleted all of the cookies in your browser, you must reset the relevant opt-out cookie.
Use of Google Remarketing
This website uses the Remarketing feature of Google Inc. The purpose of this feature is to display interest-based ads to website visitors within the Google advertising network. A "cookie" is stored in the website visitor's browser, which makes it possible to recognise the visitor when he or she visits websites that belong to Google's advertising network. On these sites, the visitor may be presented with advertisements that relate to content that the visitor has previously accessed on websites that use Google's Remarketing feature.
According to Google, the company does not collect any personal data in this process. However, if you still wish to decline the use of Google's Remarketing feature, you can always disable it by applying the appropriate settings at http://www.google.com/settings/ads. Alternatively, you can disable the use of cookies for interest-based advertising through the ad network initiative by following the instructions at http://www.networkadvertising.org/managing/opt_out.asp.
Changes to our Privacy Policy
We reserve the right to adjust this privacy policy so that it always meets the current legal requirements or to include changes to our services in the privacy policy, such as the introduction of new services. Any subsequent website access will then be subject to the terms of the new privacy policy.
